About Wilcox Nursery

Wilcox Nursery, originally known as Wilcox Brothers Tropical Acres and Groves, then Wilcox Brothers Nursery & Groves, was established as a family business over 50 years ago and is one of Largo's oldest business landmarks. The main building, although added on to as the business grew through the years, remains much as it has been for many years. This includes the old wooden fertilizer dock built from the planks of the Old Indian Rocks swing bridge. Through the years, Wilcox Nursery has established itself as an enduring business legacy, most likely attributable to it's warmth as a small business with personalized service.

Today's world has created new demands for environmentally friendly plants and products (see the Products section of our website). At Wilcox Nursery, our emphasis is to enhance Florida's natural heritage through the best selection of Florida's native plants and low impact gardening goods. This includes organic garden supplies, environmentally friendly mulches, and plants for wildlife. In addition, we carry a line of high quality bird and bat boxes, birdbaths, wild bird seed, garden artifacts that celebrate our natural world, annuals, perennials, vegetable & herb plants and seeds. as well as roses that include antique varieties, and select non-invasive exotics. As a business member, we respect and support the recommendations of the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council.
