Ground Cherry also known as Tomatillo, Physalis augustifolia, is an herbaceous plant that produces greenish yellow flowers that are down turned and somewhat hidden by this positioning. The fruit is sheltered in a husk and is edible, but only when it is fully ripe. This plant is a food source for wildlife and a larval plant for the Subflexus Straw Moth.
