Florida Greeneyes, Berlandiera subacaulis, is a perennial wildflower from Florida's upland drained and dry habitats. It has low basal foliage that is lobed and long. It's Greeneyed flowers are produced throughout the year but are prevalent in the spring. This plant is hardy by way of it's thick and deeply buried root. Plant this small and low growing wildflower in front of other taller plants and in well drained sunny locations. Keep it watered well to establish. Greeneyes flowers are most fragrant in the morning, giving notes of chocolate or caramel and attract bees and butterflies.
