Product Details

Woolly Pipevine, Aristolochia tomentosa, is a native species of Dutchman's Pipevine that only occurs in the Panhandle in Florida. This native vine has 3 inch heart shaped leaves that are soft. The flower is a small 1 to 2 inch version of the larger non-native Pipevines and is shaped in the form that it gets the common name Dutchman's Pipe. The flowers can be produced in spring through summer. Woolly Pipevine is a larval plant for Pipevine Swallowtail and Polydamas Swallowtail butterflies. This species of Pipevine will grow up to 20 feet in length where it is happy. It does need moist soil and partial to full sun for best flowering and growth. Partial sun is preferred over full sun for areas south of it's natural range. This vine will die back during the winter.
