Canavalia rosea is a dune-stabilizing, matting vine in the pea family. Purple flowers bloom year-round but most prolifically in spring and fall. Needs full sun and very well-draining, dry soil. It forms dense mats that work well as a ground cover under palms. It can sometimes climb up trees or dense shrubs but generally stays along the ground.
