Physalis angustifolia is an edible native that thrives in dry, sandy soil! An herbaceous perennial that is found in dunes and coastal scrub in western Florida. This plant reaches 2 ft high and wide. It produces yellow flowers and edible orange, tomato-like fruit. Plant in average to dry soil and full sun. Can be used in dune restoration.
