Florida Boxwood, Schaefferia frutescens, is an evergreen large shrub or small tree growing 15-25 feet high and 10-15 feet wide. Flowers and fruits all year with yellow to red fruit. Can be trimmed to stay as a shrub or hedge. Can grow in part shade to full sun and average to very dry soil. Tolerant of salty wind and some salt spray. Use this instead of podocarpus in coastal landscapes.
