Fuzzy or Low Peperomia, Peperomia humilis, is the most wide spread Peperomia in Florida. Florida is the only state in the continental U.S. that Peperomia naturally occurs. The stems are fuzzy and red. the flowers are inconspicuous and are bore on a this spike as is the fruit. This is a Peperomia that predominately grows upright to about 6 to 8 inches or sprawls. This is a popular house plant and make a nice non-aggressive groundcover for small areas in shade and with organic, moist conditions.
