Railroad Vine
Product Description
Railroad Vine, Ipomea pes-caprae, is a dune dweller on the beaches and occurs in deep drained dry sand. As a dune plant it has high wind and salt tolerance. The big hoof shaped leaves are dramatic and very attractive. As per it's name, Railroad Vine, this ground creeper is an fast and aggressive large vining plant. The large morning glory style flowers are very showy and attention getting. Care should be given to typical landscape use as this is an aggressive spreader and it does go dormant in cool winter months, but can't be beat for stablizing dune systems.
