Rice Button Aster or Bushy Aster, Symphyotrichum dumosum is a short-lived perennial wildflower. It grows 2'-4' tall and can grow in full sun to part shade. It easily colonizes in moist soil, but is very adaptable to drier sites. They bloom in Summer with white to lavender flowers that are a wonderful attractant for pollinators. It is also the larval host for the Pearl Crescent Butterfly.
