Cutleaf Primrose

Cutleaf Primrose, Oenothera laciniata, is a short lived perennial that when not in bloom, is easy to overlook. The blooming is spring and summer with the bright yellow flowers opening in the evening and closing in the morning. It is a moth pollinated plant and the flowers glow in moonlight. The plant is prostrate getting no more than several inches tall and spreading one to two feet.
