Elephant’s Foot

Elephantopus elatus is a winter-dormant, short-lived perennial with short basal rosette and 2 to 3 foot tall flower spikes. Found in flatwoods, sandhills, and wet prairies, this wildflower is adaptable to somewhat moist to long dry periods. Plant in full sun to light shade.

Blooming summer through fall, this uncommon wildflower makes an excellent addition to wildflower gardens.
