Flowering Dogwood, Cornus florida, is a deciduous understory tree that occurs in Florida as far south as the Manatee River. It is an iconic flowering tree known for it's spring bloom, horizontal branching, fall color, and red fruit that birds love. The tree can reach up to 35 feet and needs to be in filtered light with moist to average well drained soil.
