Synsepalum dulcificum

Non-native, fruit shrub that grows 2-3 feet high and 1-2 feet wide. Plant in part to full sun. The small red fruit are are sweet and contain miraculin protein. After you eat the fruit, everything you eat will taste sweet for up to 2 hours. The fruit may be helpful for diabetics to enjoy sweeter taste without the sugar.
