Tampa Verbena

Tampa Verbena, Glandularia tampensis, is a short lived perennial that is probably best treated as an annual. It has showy purple blooms that are attractive to butterflies. Tampa Verbena is rare to find in the handful of counties that it naturally occurs and, although, it is commonly cultivated, it is a state listed endangered species. This plant natural occurs in moist woods and as such prefers moist partially shaded conditions in the garden.
