**Texas native subspecies, not Florida native subspecies** Sophora tomentosa var occidentalis is an evergreen shrub, with arching stems and branches reaching 6-8 feet high and 8+ feet wide. Spires of showy yellow flowers can be produced almost any month of the year. Very drought tolerant. Tolerant of short periods of salt water flooding. The flowers attract butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, and warblers.
