A deciduos shrub reaching 6-12 ft high and 3-5 ft wide. Requires acidic (below pH 6.0) moist to average soils. pH lowering additives may be needed to promote plant health and fruit production. Plant in part shade. Host plant for Henry's Elfin and Striped Hairstreak butterflies. Fruit is ready to harvest from April-June.
