Dichondra or Pony's Foot, Dichondra carolinensis, is a diminutive plant that hugs the ground with charming pony hoof shaped leaves and getting just a couple of inches tall or less. It prefers shadowy, wet to moist locations. This is the Florida native that can work well as a filler in between stepstones or flagstone in the garden, if the location is not too hot or dry.
