The below trees are available in select sizes:
Southern Live Oak (7, 15, or 30 gal)
An iconic tree that supports a large array of wildlife. Reaches 60-80 ft. tall and 60-100 ft wide. Plant in moist to average sites for a very large canopy tree for shade and wildlife benefits. High wind, salt, drought and flood tolerance. Larval host plant for many species of moths and butterflies.
Sand Live Oak (15 or 30 gal)
A medium to large tree growing from 25-75 feet high. This is an upland species and is the better choice over Southern Live Oak for properties that are very dry. Well adapted to salt air tolerance in coastal settings as well as inland settings. It has a picturesque form and has high wildlife benefits. Larval host plant for many species of moths and butterflies.
Slash Pine (3, 7, 15, or 30 gal)
A large tree with an open, broadly conical crown. 60 to 75 feet in height. It requires full sun. They are fast growing and create a canopy open enough for many other understory plants to successfully grow. Pines are a cornerstone plant in the ecology of the state and should be planted more commonly to replace its dwindling presence in the landscape.
Dahoon Holly (7, 15, or 30 gal)
A native, medium-size, broad-leaf evergreen tree. It slowly reaches 25-35 ft. high and 12-15 ft. wide. It is planted as an ornamental for the evergreen foliage and profuse red fruit attracts songbirds. Pollinators are drawn to the small spring blooms. Plant in average to moist sites in full to partial sun as a good wildlife plant for enclosure or screening, or as a specimen tree.
Red Maple (3, 15, or 30 gal)
A large, deciduous shade tree that grows 40-60 feet tall with a compact crown. Red Maples will display red foliage in wet natural areas year around but need cool to cold weather in the fall to get the most vibrant foliage color in landscape applications. Plant in wet to average conditions and part to full sun.
Myrtle Oak (only available in 45 gal)
A small-medium shrubby oak that ranges from 10- 15 feet, rarely up to 30 feet. Requires part-full sun and dry-extremely dry soil. The acorns have value to birds and mammals. It's a host plant for several butterflies including Duskywings and hairstreaks. Ideal if you want to add an oak for the wildlife value but have limited space. The oldest know individuals are over 1,000 years old!
