Product Details

Bahama Cassia,Senna mexicana var. chapmanii, is a sprawling shrub that may reach a height of 3 to 5 ft. It is covered with showy clusters of yellow flowers off and on from fall through spring. The soft compound leaves are attractive and create a lacy textured effect. This plant is a host plant for the Cloudless, Orange-barred, and Sleepy Orange Sulfur butterflies as well as serving as a butterfly nectar plant. This is a south Florida species and needs shelter from frost. Add to the landscape for intense yellow color from the blooms and for bringing clouds of Sulfur Butterflies to the landscape. Plant in partial to full sun in moist to dry soil.
