Lizard's Tail, Saururus cernuus, is an upright perennial, growing to 2 ft. in height. Slender, nodding, solitary, 6 to 8 inch spikes of tiny, white flowers curl like a lizard's tail creating an attractive effect. Attractive leaves are lance-shaped to nearly triangular with a cordate base. Many tiny, fragrant, white flowers are on a slender, tapering, stalked spike with a drooping tip. Lizard's tails are natural in moist soil to shallow water in ponds and bloom spring through the fall. Plant in wet areas, pond edges, or in home water features in sun or bright shade.
