Oblongleaf Twinflower or just Twinflower, Dyschoriste oblongifolia, is a native perennial wildflower that makes a great bunching wildflower or groundcover. This species can grow to about 12" tall and spreads along the ground, and is better in sun as opposed to its shade loving relative, Dyschoriste humistrata. This cover plant in dry to average conditions, but may need supplemental watering during periods of drought. The small trumpet shaped lavender blooms can occur all year in warm areas and flowering is heightened during the warms months. The small dark leaves are dense and create a cultured look in the landscape.
