Scrub Palmetto (Sabal etonia)

Palmettos are a ubiquitous symbol of Florida providing a sense of place in the Florida landscape. This small palmetto reaches 5 feet high and wide. Plant in full sun and dry to very dry soil. The white flowers attract pollinators and the blue/black fruit are enjoyed by birds. Excellent as a border or under windows where other palmettos would grow too high.
