Beach Verbena

Beach Verbena, Glandularia maritima, is a short lived perennial that grows several inches to a foot in height, spreading and potentially forming an extensive herbaceous ground cover. It has clusters of showy purple flowers through out the year that attract butterflies. This is a plant that needs moist to average soil and a sunny exposure. Besides being a great colorful plant for bedding and attracting butterflies in the garden, it is also a great container plant.
