Black eyed Susan var Floridana

Rudbeckia hirta var. Floridana is an annual to a short-lived perennial wildflower. It grows 1-2 ft. in height. It has bright-yellow, 2-3 in. flowers with dark centers. Although this Central to South Florida wild-type Black-eyed Susan has smaller flowers than hybrids, it is hardier. Plant in partial to full sun in moist to average soil. It also makes a great container plant and mixes well in wildflower beds.
