Turkey Oak
Product Description
Turkey Oak, Quercus laevis, is a native deciduous Oak that comes from deep drained Sandhill habitat, The namesake comes from It's foliage shaped like a turkey's foot. It foliage turns a beautiful coppery red in fall and winter prior to dropping their leaves for the season. Turkey Oak acorns are a food source for many species of wildlife. This slow growing tree typically grows 40 to 45 feet. Even though this tree is slow growing, its woefully under utilized in landscapes and should be used for deeply drained sites more than it is.
