Miami Supreme Gardenia

Gardenia, Gardenia jasminoides, is a flowering shrub well-known for its large, fragrant blooms. They grow 6'-7' tall and just as wide. Plant Gardenias in full to part sun for best blooming; they can tolerate shadier areas, though less sunlight can affect bloom production (though harsh sunlight and heat in summer can scorch leaves). They prefer well-drained soil, but consider amending the soil with some organic matter such as fine pine mulch for best results. Fertilize up to twice a year for continued bloom vigor year after year. The strong scented blooms emerge in late-spring through summer, offering a wonderful display and enjoyable fragrance.
